Jozef “Joe” Vala is an 11-year resident of Somers, hailing from Queens, New York. As a first-generation American, he holds a Master of Science in Direct Marketing from Mercy University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Management of Technology from Farmingdale State College. He holds over 30 years of experience in sales, account management, general management, mentorship, and leadership, consistently ranking as a top performer within his company.

 

Within his community, Joe is invested in a variety of fields. Having two children—one who graduated in 2023 and the other still in school— he cares about the quality of education students receive, having served on the Somers Educational Equity Advisory Team and hiring committees within the Somers Central School District as well as contributing to the Somers Education Foundation. Joe is also a supporter of the Somers Police Benefits Association, frequently contributing and supporting events and initiatives of the association that keep his neighborhood safe.

 

Joe is running on a platform for the people. This means uplifting the people’s issues and concerns, working towards the economic stability and highest quality standards of our communities. As District 2’s county legislator, he hopes to increase government transparency, initiate needed repairs to our community’s infrastructure, promote community safety, enforce environmental protections, bolster economic benefits for homeowners, support local businesses, and increase engagement within the community.
